E-reader??
E-reader is still a separate category then from tablets? Tablets are more than equipped to do all that the best of e-readers accomplish plus a ton more. Apparently the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite has eliminated the competition and is the best. While this e-reader has a smaller price tag it is not worth the money to invest into when compared to the top tablets on the market. The market for such a device is so much smaller than the tablets market. On the other hand book enthusiasts not looking for anything but easy access to hundreds of books this is a good way to go, I guess.

With a supposedly eight week battery, I might consider getting one of these instead of lugging around all my textbooks. I have never been a fanatic of tablets or e-readers because physically turning pages feels better than swiping my finger. When someone creates an e-book with built in soundtracks, I might finally buy one. Good post.
ReplyDeleteI agree that if I had a tablet I wouldn't bother buying an e-reader, but specialization does lead to some benefits. The long battery life and lower price are probably the main ones.
ReplyDeleteLast year I almost bought a kindle. I found most of my textbooks could be purchased on the kindle for much cheaper than buying a hard copy. I'll agree with Ben that the long battery life made it more attractive, but I ended up going with the tablet just because I wanted more uses for it. Would definitely get an e-reader for my grandma or other old people that just don't enjoy all the fun features of tablets.
